Make Every Space A Space You’ll Love To Live In…

Bon Appetit!

Warm walnut paneling envelops this formal Park Avenue dining room which Quinn Hannum designed with Elle Decor celebrated designer, Nannette Brown. “Working on this project with Nannette was a wonderful experience,” Quinn says. “We both share a love for a similar aesthetic rich in luxurious materials, antiques, and old-world craftsmanship, which we reinvent to achieve a timeless, intercontinental feel.”

Custom blackened steel doors are adorned with handles welded by the celebrated Italian metal-smith, Brotto. An antique chinoiserie corner bar which was originally a small antique sourced from a flea market in Paris was stretched to reach from floor to ceiling, with the help of a talented millworker, metal worker, and painter, who replicated the Chinese motif throughout the piece. The plaster dining table was created by “The Master of Plaster”himself, Stephen Antonson. Custom cafe shades semi-conceal the extensive china collection behind. Jean Perzel lighting illuminates the space, and a plaster relief adorns the wall.

An entry cladded in marble and Venetian plaster and fluted soffits. Custom blackened steel doorways transition to the other spaces within the Park Avenue residence.

A vestibule wrapped in mother of pearl wall covering leads to a moody library with dark French polished walls and gold pin-striping.

The living room features 96 intaglios framed in custom lucite boxes, as well as custom shutters, ceiling design with wood strapping, and antique lighting from the Marché Aux Puces in Paris. The master bedroom walls are upholstered in plush velvet, and a custom marble fireplace balances the room. A beautiful ensuite bathroom featuring marble cladding and a custom brass shower enclosure create the perfect ambiance to rest and unwind.

This prewar apartment renovation on the Upper East Side of Manhattan features Venetian plastered walls, high-gloss lacquered custom built-ins, ebonized floors, assorted antique lighting and decorative pieces, Kelly Wearstler seating, a baby grand piano, and the client’s exciting collection of artwork. “It’s bright, fresh and fun,” Quinn says. “This was another space that I had a great time designing with Nannette Brown. We completely renovated the duplex, while honoring the style of the architectural details. We also got creative and added additional storage space, while at the same time concealing the HVAC units with a lovely custom built-in that features push-latch doors which pop open to reveal the children’s favorite games and books. They use the new window bench as a reading nook and it’s a much better use of the space, which is an absolute must in New York City!”

Where Dreams Are Made…

This master bedroom features custom Venetian silk bedding which Quinn custom-designed, as well as Brabbu Portuguese brass light fixtures, custom ebonized oak and gold leaf mirrors, and Asian brass bowls filled with blooming orchids. The custom bed was created by artisans in Philadelphia to suit the couple’s desire for a contemporary Italian style.
