A space should reflect its owner’s authentic expression—not the latest trend. That is where our work begins.
We look closely at the architecture, the history of a place, its surroundings, its light and existing structure, and the people for whom it is being transformed. From there, the design develops naturally—not from a predetermined aesthetic, but from what the project itself is asking to become.
Architecture and interiors are considered as one from the beginning. Proportion, light, materials, landscape, furniture and the experience of moving through a space are all part of the same conversation. Being involved early allows those elements to inform one another rather than being resolved independently.
Sometimes the right piece already exists. Sometimes it doesn’t.
When it doesn’t, we work with artisans and ateliers throughout the United States and across the globe to create furniture, lighting and objects specifically for the project. We travel regularly to discover new makers, techniques and materials, while continuing relationships with the ateliers whose work we have come to know and value. It is an ongoing exchange—one that keeps us connected to the people, processes and ideas shaping the world of art and craftsmanship today.
A particular stone, an unusual finish, a piece of furniture made to exist in one place and nowhere else. There is something meaningful about making things this way—objects with character, intention and the unmistakable evidence of the hand.
Our work spans private residences, ground-up homes, historic properties, hospitality and large-scale renovations. The settings vary considerably. The approach does not.
We are interested in spaces that feel of their place and of their people. Spaces that are considered enough to feel effortless, and personal enough to become something more than a collection of beautiful things.
In the end, the work should feel personal and completely its own.

She completely transformed the outdoor spaces into layered gardens with tropical ipe decking, lush evergreens, and wildflowers. The garden was designed to be self-sufficient with built-in irrigation, so I never have to worry about it when I’m traveling, and the architectural lighting makes the garden come alive at night. I can’t believe there are butterflies fluttering around the garden 46 stories above street level. It’s a great place to entertain, but it has also transformed the way I experience the skyline. It ran throughout the space, with an unusual amount of beautifully integrated storage, all crafted from white oak with a very special patina that had developed over time. The challenge was making the apartment work better for me without compromising what made it special. Quinn designed new built-in pieces to extend the existing cabinetry and brought in an exceptional millworker to match it. We went through nearly 50 custom samples to get the color and patina right. The result is that you genuinely cannot tell where the original cabinetry ends and the new work begins. The apartment finally flows the way I need it to, while still feeling completely authentic to the original design. That level of craftsmanship is rare.”

Quinn Hannum
Quinn Hannum’s approach to design was shaped as much by where she has lived and worked as by what she studied.
By the age of fourteen, Quinn was already working professionally as a dancer, performing in choreographers’ exchanges throughout the East Coast. After graduating from high school, she moved to Seville, Spain, where she studied Spanish language and culture and immersed herself in flamenco. She also performed classical oriental dance and was invited to perform across Europe and North Africa. Those early experiences fostered a lasting sensitivity to movement, rhythm, atmosphere and the ways culture finds expression through art and place.
Although her professional life began in theatre and dance, design had always been a private passion. A close friend who knew this invited Quinn to renovate La Posada Hotel in Montellano, Spain. It was her first design project—and the experience that made her realize that design was the creative path she wanted to pursue. She returned to the United States to study interior architecture and design, graduating with the Best Portfolio Award.
After completing her studies, Quinn opened her own practice. She was subsequently hired by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, where she worked on projects ranging from the Four Seasons Downtown New York to luxury residential developments for Related Companies and Corcoran Group. Her work also took her to Mount Nicholson, Hong Kong where one of the residences achieved a record-setting sale of HK$722 million.
She continued to develop her own practice and later moved to Paris, where she immersed herself in the world of artists, craftspeople and ateliers, as well as the antiques, galleries and labyrinth of markets that make the city such an extraordinary place to discover things. It was there that her appreciation for craftsmanship deepened into an understanding of making as a culture, a discipline and a form of expression.
Travel subsequently became an essential part of her practice—not simply as a source of inspiration, but as a way of discovering the people, places, materials and techniques that give things their character. Quinn began seeking out artisans and workshops around the world, building relationships with makers whose work offered something beyond the expected. She continues to travel in search of new artists, artisans, materials and techniques while maintaining relationships with the ateliers whose work she has come to know and value.
These experiences have given Quinn an unusually broad perspective on the relationship between architecture, interiors, art and craftsmanship—from the scale of a building and its setting to the details that ultimately give a space its character.
Today, Quinn leads an independent design practice working across residential and hospitality projects in the United States and internationally. Her work includes ground-up residences, substantial renovations, historic properties and hospitality environments.
Quinn is NCIDQ certified and speaks fluent English and Spanish, with professional fluency in French. Her work has been recognized by Philadelphia Style’s Best of Style, ASID, Dan’s Papers and James Lane Post.
